How Do You Photograph a Windmill (with Alpacas on Top!)?

On Saturday, I got home from work early enough to actually do something with the day. So, we took the boys to see the windmills and to the alpaca farm...with a stop for icecream in between. (I didn't have any icecream...scouts honor...'cause I'm doing that four-letter word thing again.)

It was a fun little mini-adventure. Now, we can see the windmills on a daily basis here. They're all across the ridgetops as we drive anywhere. But we've only actually driven up this close to them a few times. And on Saturday, they were turning. Spinning. Doin' their windmill thang. It sounded like a plane going overhead. And though they've been up for a couple years now, they still seem other-wordly to me. Every. Single. Time.
It's so hard to capture the awesomeness of these things in a photo. But I really like the perspective shot below.
And then, the alpaca were just as adorable (and stinky) as the last time we saw them last year.
This last one? Ya...he stands like our Sugar sits. Very funny. Total personality, those two. ;)
